I keep seeing everywhere that boucle jackets are going to be a trend in the fall. Then I this at American Eagle for $79, how fast can I get to the mall? I really dig the exposed zipper and the bejewelled shoulders. Too cute to pass up for the price!
Julia Roberts seems to like being out of the spotlight. I don't blame her, with three kids, who wants to be chased around by paparazzi? She lives in my hood and many neighbors have told me they have run into her at the park or on abbot kinney. Everyone says she's super nice. I have yet to get a glance. Recently she's done a lot of press for her new movie so we get to see some of her fashion choices. I have to say I'm impressed. She stills looks so young and her figure after three kids, crazy!
Although they date back century's ago, there is still something fresh about gallery walls. There are so many options right now-you hang as you may or you can get ledges. The latter offers you the option of moving things around whenever you like. And they great thing is you can use whatever you have- photos, mismatched frames, mirrors of all sizes. Here are some great examples.
So I just came across Emily Henderson's blog, The Brass Petal. She's now one of the two finalists on Design Star. We will find out next week who wins! Her blog is so cool because she tells backstory to the episode and why she made the decisions she did. It's an inside look straight from the source.
This is the room that kept her in the game last night. I love the green sofa.
This is her home office area. I like the idea of a big comfy chair to sit and read in.
Ok, so I'm still utterly obsessed with this light fixture. I love the brass, the midcentury look, the ton of light it projects. Sigh, Im still waiting for a surplus of cash because currently I can't justify it when I have a perfectly good chandelier in the dining room already.
Carrier and Company is featured in the September issue of Elle Decor. It's a home I had posted before but there are lots of extra pics in the magazine. The outside of the home is phenomenal. Another thing I noticed was the red ikea bookcase was styled differently. I think I like the first image better but ,hey, they both look great!
One of my obsessions is peaking into people's work spaces, it's so entertaining. When I stumbled onto the work space of Fashion Designer Jason Wu I got excited, not only is the space fantastic but it was designed by Carrier and Company. I adore the company and have always been a fan of their work. Oh man, isn't the vintage news wallpaper so cool?
