NYE Dream Dress

James and I are going to a local lounge for New Years and I cant stop thinking about what to wear. I'll probably settle on something I hate in my closet and wear a jacket over it the whole night. Thats kinda my M.O. But if I had my dream budget and could get whatever I wanted it would be this dress Sarah Jessica Parker is wearing. Oh, and I wouldn't mind that body either.

Blogging

I've recently thought a lot about blogging and what it means to me. Many people advised me that it would help my design career so initially I started Studio Stella as a marketing tool but it has become much more than that. In reality it turned out to be my virtual diary. For me it's a difficult, scary thing to do-let people in on your random thoughts and fleeting obsessions. The constant insecurity that people may judge you. They may judge your writing, your style, your point of view. As a novice blogger I am still figuring things out. How do I make it all cohesive, easy to read and most of all interesting. Studio Stella is a work in progress- I know it won't be the worlds best blog but I hope to get my point across and have people continue to visit. Thanks for listening.

Gift Wrap

I'm obsessed with wrapping gifts. Seriously more than anyone should be. A friend once asked me if it makes me sad that I spend so much time/money on wrapping only to have someone rip it apart in seconds? I thought about it and decided, not in the least. I believe everything is about presentation. I mean they say you eat with eyes for pete sakes, so whats better than getting a beautifully wrapped gift and anticipating its content? When I saw these wrappings in Lonny's december issue, my heart skipped a beat. Yes, I know that's a bit dramatic but if you knew how much of a geek I was you may understand. Happy holiday wrapping!

Outdoor Holiday Decorating

This past weekend James and I were in San Francisco visiting my cousin and hanging out with friends. It did rain the entire weekend but we still had the best time. My favorite was driving around seeing homes adorned in Christmas decorations.They go all out in San Fran. It was too gloomy to get any pics but here are some festive photos I've collected over the years.

The Glamourai's Closet

Wowza, is this closet organized to perfection! This is the closet of The Glamourai , founder of one my favorite fashion blogs. Every morning I check Kelly's blog to see what fantastic outfit she's wearing and where in NY she's parading around. What a fun job! A definite must read!

Home Tour {Blackman Cruz}

For anyone who may not know, Blackman Cruz is a well known store among Interior Designers, rock stars and celebrities. Known for their artsy, odd, one of a kind pieces they stand out with their unique point of view on interior furnishings. I remember one year, their christmas window display was a noose. I recently found some images of Adam Blackwell's home and was blown away. Although they kept to the integrity of the homes architecture they still managed to make it modern.

Workspace Inspiration

One of the things I enjoy most is peeking into peoples work spaces. I'm an organization junkie so I'm always curious how people keep their things in order. This is the office of Jute, an Interior Design company in Mill Valley. Such a great, simple technique to storing fabric samples- folded on open shelving. What could be easier?
